Karen Pearce Photography bio picture

About Karen

My name is Karen Pearce, and I am a contemporary natural light portrait photographer.  I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, and have worked for years as a graphic designer. I often find myself surfing the internet for hours looking at different photography, fine art and graphic design websites.

I have always had a love of photography and took classes in high school and college.  At family get togethers people always would hand me their camera and ask me to take photos for them. I got serious about photography as a profession after my first daughter was born. I became frustrated with my point and shoot camera, it would not take pictures fast enough. I wanted to capture the emotions I was seeing on my daughter's face with my eyes through the lens of a camera.

Contemporary portrait photography inspires me - it's not posed, it's real.  I try to capture emotion, personality and expression in my photographs - these are the qualities that I believe make a photograph memorable and treasured for a lifetime.

Contemporary

Richard is a talented Landscape Architect. I think this background fits him perfectly – sophisticated and contemporary.2010-july2

I love this woman’s work.  I’ve bought several things from her online on etsy.com. Her baby blankets are BEAUTIFUL, and the tie onesies are perfect baby gifts for boys. I’ll add links below the photos so you can check them out if you’re interested.
